YIEP Student Intake Form

The University, and its accrediting body, require a 4 day on site residency seminar for all MSCC students. This is a requirement of all students, there are no exceptions to appear in person in New York. Since COVID began, Bellevue has allowed the students to appear on Zoom. We cannot gaurantee that this will continue, but we can do our best to let all students know if this will change in the future.

The 4 day residency is typically held from Sunday through Wednesday, the first four days of the cohort in the first and second years from 9AM EST - 4PM EST with a 45 minute break for lunch.

In order to apply for State Licensure, the student must take and pass a national exam, offered by NBCC, National Board for Certified Counselors, please see www.nbcc.org.

The examination is not required for graduation.

The exam is given in April and October of each year, at various sites throughout the United States.

Bellevue University facilitates the exam.

Please discuss with your advisor when you should take the exam.

YIEP and BELLEVUE UNIVERSITY will work closely with the student to obtain a placement for the Practicum and Internships necessary in the second year of the program (and to date we have been successful), however, such placement is ultimately the responsibility of the student.
